I'm mean like that :) > > I think we've pretty much settled on this -- in fact probably only armour will > count for MR. > > I guess we're all mean. :) Although the use of Armour protection vaule is simple; it strikes me as odd that the bonus must be (using base value, as Mandos suggests) 0,5,6,7,8, or 9 [upto 10 or 15 if jousting]; or (if rank modifications are permitted 0, 5 through 12, or 15. This is a bit clunky compared with simple +3 steps. I prefer all possessions to count -- I feel that a character bristling with an extra 10 or 20 lbs of cold-iron weapons *deserves* the extra MR. By keeping the divisions big and simple (e.g. 10lb chunks), the breaks are pretty basic. Frankly, if a charcter's player doesn't know whether they have 0ish, 10+, 20+, 30+, 40+ or 50+ lbs of iron possessions I wouldn't trust them to calculate modified AG, or any other combat stat. I do hope this is not my personal prejudice (since my non-mage is woefully in need of M.R., has cute non-metallic armour, but invariably carries an anvil & other cold-iron tools-of-the-trade.) Also I *can* see how, as a weaponsmith, he may use his skill-ranks to give more protection for the given weight of iron (or less weight for the same protective value); it seems bizarre that he can increase MR by exercising this same skill. Finally concerning "Silvering", I prefer the mere 10% penalty; rather than allowing silvering to totally overcome the penalty (e.g., warrior-mages should be recognised as the impure bastard creatures that they are!) the mage should have to choose high physical protection at a cost -- in this case to base chances. Hope this make sense (people are talking TOO loudly in the background!!0 regards, michael Michael Parkinson Information Services A/L Science Library, University of Auckland. Dear Tinker Noddy, I've visted this here Westover before and found it a fun friendly place full of tonnes of loot and gentle folk eager to please. I've also found it full of blood thirsty sociopaths (not just the GM) in need of a good steel enema to change some rather naughty behaviour patterns. Basically I'm keen to go back and finish what I started last time despite the cowardice, avarice and plain blue funk of the last party I went there with (There was nothing wrong with my plan. It was perfectly safe and would have worked!). So Death to the lying scum of Westover! A bugger of a bad day to to the Knights of the Holy Vhem! Up the Lord of Corruption! A knee to the bollix of the Black Star weirdos! Three cheers for the lord of Tinkers!
