Reply-To: dq@dq.sf.org.nz Minutes from the Autumn 799 Guild Meeting 1st Fruit ‘799 WK Adventures going out 1) Lord Shaygar from the Plane of Lorgos. His friend, Lord Arondel, had hired a party twice and had been eminently satisfied both times so he decided to do the same. He wants a party to help rid his plane of some squid creatures and requested adventurers who were good at underwater/swamp work. He is offering standard rates of pay. He also informed the assembled that Lord Arondel was now deceased because of old age. - Greg Taylor, Tuesdays, Low/medium, Sandringham. 2) Einz - A small hungry looking human peasant from a village four days ride west of Seagate, which puts it reasonably close to the High Mana Zone. His village has been having problems with orcs and goblins. Further questioning revealed that the goblins have wings so they were re-identified as harpies. He also wanted to know if he could hire the entire guild. When asked about pay he replied ‘Turnips' so someone asked if they were gold ones. Finally it was concluded that the pay would be half the turnips recovered from the orcs and ‘goblins'. He then mentioned that have lots of loot. - Jono, Mondays, Medium 3) Sargent Razor. A party needs to go and see Beliel and requires a medium level Namer and Greater Summoner. Apparently they are obliged to read him a poem - which may or may not be an insult. - Andrew, Thursdays, Medium 4) Sneaky - A 14 year old street urchin who had recently arrived from Sanctuary. Hewas sent here to obtain a party on behalf of his master who can't leave his ship because of a curse. He also admitted that the ship looked a bit derelict. He is willing to pay well and it is rumoured that he is immortal. He wishes to take a party of adventurers up north to Norden and stop an assassination. The pay is 5000sp plus another 5000sp on completion. - Jeff Leddra, Tuesday/Wednesday - Mediumish. 5) Representatives from the Mojo Entertainment Corporation. They had run a competition called ‘The Arena' a while back and were now organising ‘Arena II' or "The Return of Arena'. They are looking for a number of hearty, exuberant, homicidal, posers enough to make two teams, an experienced one and a not so experienced one. Some of the original teams will be returning such as: The Kinlu Bodyguards, The Unified Western Church (a team of Holy Knights), and Mr & Mrs Theopolis and butler (three giants). They weren't sure if the hobbits were returning yet. Becuase of questions raised last time, the entire team draw will be done upfront. Mojo has put up 1,000,000sp to be won. This is a playtest of Jono's new fighting skill document. There is to be no more than seven in each team and magic is being toned down. - Martin/Dean, Thursdays, New Windsor. 6) Tippenkukac and Sacucack - This was a large guy in plate mail who leaks some sort of black liquid and moves oddly as well as a more normal looking portly human. They want a group to help with a diplomatic mission and are interested in noble, gracious, orcs. There is much reward and many interesting places to fight. The pay was ‘As many teeth as can be carried'. They said they were from the Great Ziggurat near the City of Salamakaar. - Amon, Low/medium, Wednesday, New Windsor. 7) Sir Graham of the Five Sisters - A richly dressed man who had a problem with piracy so decided to cut costs by hiring adventurers instead of the navy. Pay is 100,000sp and the party may be required for an extensive period. He will pay more after a season. The pirates are located in the Isles of Adventure which are somewhat south of Nova Dom. This game is scheduled to last three sessions. - William, Tuesday, Medium. Awards Stupidest Adventurer 1) Eltain - After a fight with a high priest of a death cult, he picked up the priest's magical blessed sword. The resulting explosion threw him out of the room and over the balcony. 2) Lath - Since pork was on the menu, she requested a disguise illusion as a pig so that she could stage a protest. However, the customers decided that this pig should be on the next night's menu so Lath asked Viola to counterspell it. When Viola attempted to, she backfired and fell unconscious. Lath then shouted a drink to anyone who would kiss the unconscious Viola. 3) Brittamus - The party spent three months walking and riding around a plane gathering clues. Then Brittamus remarked he could cast Wings. 4) The nomination for the party who went to Hell was tabled then withdrawn. The winner: Brittamus Bravest Adventurer 1) Eltain - for bravely charging into battle with the above high priest who was wielding a magical flaming sword that shot firebolts. 2) (no name given) - They had gone backwards in time and met a 60' long dragon. This person was quoted as saying "like visiting home, but could we have souvenirs?" 3) Count Aryan of Ebola - He was carrying Starflower and Kryan and was being repeatedly Blackfired. It was soon determined that Starflower was the target but he staunchly refused to let go. The winner: Aryan Smartest Adventurer 1) Kryan - When the party encountered the slivey toves, he Daed them to determine their weakness. The answer was ‘Appetite' so he conjured up suitable illusionary food. Also, when the Raniterre was finally found in her box, the party discovered that the box and contents would teleport away if they were interfered with. So Kryan used a Maze spell to trap the Raniterre then the box was interfered with. The box vanished. When the Raniterre dropped out of the maze spell she was set upon by the party. 2) Phaeton/Grendel - for using a mouse to trigger off a series of wards. Winner - Kryan Best Death There were no nominations hence there was no award. Roll of Honour None Star of Alusia No award General Business 1) Sargent Razor requested the services of a Namer to teach Banishment to the Namer accompanying their party. 2) Aqualina reported that some fresh supply points for Waters of Healing had been found but the supply would still be rationed until next summer when the next major supplies would arrive, so she reminded people that there was still a limit of two per customer. 3) The story was told about Jade. When the party were attacked by a number of related elven death-aspected guards, they were warned not to kill them. Jade ran up behind one and decapitated it. It was noted that this was done to save another party member. 4) The rescue party into Hell requested more firepower. 5) Sir Don had picked up a supply of expertly crafted wooden weapons that were as tough as iron ones. He would give these away to adventurers who needed them. Player Business Kelsie requested as many maps of Alusia that people could find.
