I had not read this spell properly, all the way through, before, so I didn't spot the bit about only turning a living target into another living form. This is a really good idea, because it stops the spell from being an instant irressurectible death spell. Excellent. I would suggest that when the target of the spell is self, then the spells duration can be ended at the target's discretion, if only to avoid meaningless time wasting while waiting for the spell to expire.
