Do you want the reference value (S-6) etc to cascade down or do you want a hole in the range ie S-4 S-5 S-7 S-8 ... Reply-To: dq@dq.sf.org.nz DQ Gods Meeting Minutes 3rd October 1999 Present: Jono, Jason, William, Mike Parkinson, Paul, Jacqui, Keith, Scott, Terry, Andrew, Rosemary Rules Issues Fire College The latest document had been edited by Jason and it was generally agreed that an excellent job had been done. The question was asked if there had been enough playtesting. Limited playtesting had been done. The motion was made that the new fire college be put in the rulebook on probation for two years and make modifications. Passed (7/1/1) Mind College Jacqui had rewritten the College and it was generally agreed that the new one was a lot clearer. However some changes were required. The willpower v willpower modifier had been changed to a modifier based on the spellcaster's willpower only. It was felt that a contest of wills was more preferable (similar to SC v DEF). Vote for status-quo (8/1/1). The document was then gone through, section by section, discussed and changes suggested. The revised document would be reviewed next meeting and a vote taken if it is to go into playtest. Changes for the next rulebook a) Change the wiccan hellfire to match the new fire one. Passed (8/4/0) b) Change the damage for necrosis to be similar to hellfire. It was felt that more discussion was required about the consequences. c) Change the wiccan install flight to match the binder version. Passed (9/3/0) Campaign Issues The question was asked, should the minutes include campaign events especially those still to come. It was generally felt that the minutes should be a concise and accurate record of the proceeds, however it was accepted that some things discussed may be 'spoilers' for future adventures, since the minutes are accessible to players through the dq-announce list. In these cases, if the minute secretary is informed of this for a particular item, then it can be left off. If any player wants further information on any campaign event mentioned in the minutes, or the Seagate Times, then they can ask a GM. Also the dq-pub list could be used by GMs to insert rumours and hints such as the possibility of inserting nails made out of copper in a wiccan's footprints in order to slow the movement rate of the wiccan that made them. There was also some discussion about the desire on the part of some players for their characters to be able to act in, and affect, the world outside of the normal adventuring process. The suggestion was raised that the Guild move offplane with portals to other planes including Alusia. Reply-To: "Paul Schmidt" , dq@dq.sf.org.nz At the last Gods meeting Dean bought up the issue of a general rule change to double and triple effects from spells doing more than +1/Rank damage. The idea of this change was to stop the automatic snuffing of parties from spells like Necrosis at +2/Rank points of damage, when a double or triple was rolled, even if a succesful resistance check was made. Suggestions? We still want double and triple effect spells to be useful. How about an extra point of damage/Rank for double effects and a second point for triples? This is still a lot of damage but prevents the automatic death of a character if a successful resistance role is made. Bonus damage calculated this way would also bring this damage down to the same level as that from spells that do only +1/Rank. Cheers Paul -- see unsubscribe instructions in message headers --
