Reply-To: dq@dq.sf.org.nz Proceeds of the Guild Meeting 1 Meadow 800 WK 1) Outgoing Adventures 1) Mirrium, an apprentice mage. Wants a party to investigate another disappearance of her mistress. Kidnapped again or just vanished? Claire, Medium Low, Tuesdays 2) Cardinal Ezekiel. Offering 60,000sp for the head of their religion - just the head - being the Pope of the Church of Chantra. He has been the driving force in a war against the heretics (the worshippers of Chantris) and as a mission if peace, he is to be eliminated. As a side note, he has also kidnapped Father Rowan and they want us to take him back as they don't want him any more - please. Mandos, Tues/Wed/Thurs, Medium plus, Max six players. 3) Jack - Marshal of the Empire of Cumberland. A friend of Emperor Cumberland wishes to become the ‘Protector' of his lands and wants some help sorting out border problems on every border as well as entities such as evil sorcerers and foreign dignatories. The pay was announced as two gold sovereigns but the size of those coins means that each one is worth 22.5K sp. (Apparently previous parties had spent time looking for loose change in the giant's couch). Phil, Mon/Thurs, Medium, in Waterview. 4) Ignatious Nobnose. He wants the party to retrieve some treasure on the Plane of Greyhawk. All they want is one small item. It is suspected that the treasure is held by dragons. Paul, Mondays, Medium 5) Subdean of the University of Massechusis. An upstart faculty has taken over the administration of some departments. This is to be rectified. All the party needs to do is to get into the Registry records, and change them so that the faculty members have to take compulsory leave. About a few thousand years should do it. Pay is 10,000sp per person. Ian, Medium, Thursday, starts in January. 6) Sgt Mallory of the Dukes Guard. After the Duke's proclamation, one entity mage has run off, the necromancer Damian (not to be confused with Damian the Black). He is to be brought back. Last seen, heading east towards the Sea of Grass. William, Low, Tuesdays. 7) It was reported that a Phoenix had been stolen. Jim, Tuesdays, Medium. Bravest Adventurer 1) Clementine/Christopher - for charging in and taking on King Carlos and a demon, even though it looked like they were outclassed. 2) Kilroy - The party were up against nasty creatures that ‘un-named' i.e. reduced Named entities to less than nothing. Kilroy and Ghengis charged into the attack. (It was pointed out that Ghengis does that sort of thing on a regular basis). 3) Sebastian - The party was trying to kill a demonspawn and Sebastian had surrounded it with a Ring of Light. The demonspawn died but the demon king Asmode turned up to resurrect it. Even though Sebastian was Dark Aspected, he charged through the Ring, and took damage, in order to stop this from happening. Winner - Sebastian Stupidest Adventurer 1) Everin - The party were in the castle of a very nasty avatar and most of the party had been turned into Undead. Everin decided to do an Ask the Dead, which attracted the attention of the Avatar. 2) Kilroy - The party were on a Calimar dominated plane where elves had been outlawed. During a fight, Kilroy cast a Darkness, which had a radius of half a mile, which brough them to the attention of every enemy force in the vicinity. 3) Dalran (I am not a loony) - He used an item that drives opponents insane then tried to communicate with them using Speak to Enchanted. He was driven insane. 4) Anathea - Sebastian was badly injured and needed a Healing Potion. Anathea fed him a Restorative instead. (Ouch - that gotta hurt). 5) Anathea - The rest of the party had been arrested and Anathea was asked to vouch that they were not demons. Anathea's response was "No. Not when I last saw them." Winner - Anathea for the restorative. Smartest Adventurer Callen - solving a puzzle that was the key to interplaner travel and managing to do it without being bitten by the guardian dragons. Jaundice - When fighting a kraken, threw a Potion of Joy down the creature's throat. The kraken died of ecstasy. Turf - The party had succeeded in getting rid of the nasty people attacking the Calimar. As the Calimar prepared to thank the party, Turf managed to circumvent the compromise of the party's principles by slaying the Calimar. Glynn - Before the party was transported into a small Cold Iron cage by a demon, he had arranged for some members of the party to be in Gaseous Form so that they could escape. Winner Glynn. Best Death Starflower - The party had encountered the assassin demon, Garp, who offered to transport the party where they wanted. Starflower wanted to take a message to the party employer. On route, she was killed and resurrected. Starflower - Killing herself to remove a death curse. Winner - No vote General Business 1) Phaeton had two silvered rapiers that were up for auction. 2) An eastern gentleman had been sitting outside the Guild, under a cherry tree, waiting for someone called the Kingslayer. It was generally agreed that he was referring to Count Aryan. He is dressed in plate with a tabard that indicates he is a high ranking noble of somewhere not many pople have heard of (Count of Ebola), he is bearing a variety of weapons, most prominently a Great Axe and a couple of hand and a half swords. As he gets closer it appears that he is carrying a couple of plain flasks, obviously filled with liquid. He removes his helmet and a face is revealed that was better left hidden, while not ugly it is ill-proportioned and the numerous scars do not help. He is obviously feeling the heat as he shakes the sweat from his forehead and short-cropped blonde hair. As he tops the hill and approaches the cherry tree he bearing, manner and words breach 20 of the 27 protocols of such a meeting. It is obvious that he has no idea of his implicit insults as he is smiling and appears friendly in a barbaric fashion.
