Subject[dq] Names List - Hill Giant

To anyone concerned with such things (Mike P? Martin D?)

I notice that the only type of Giants on the Names List are Cloud, Fire,
Frost, and Stone. Presumably Hill Giant should be there as well, as it is
the type that various Guild members are?

Not that it would be a problem getting access to the Name....
Dwarven Namer:"Excuse me, could...EXCUSE ME, could I just ask you a
question?" <one-thousand-and-one, one-thousand-and-two..>
Giant:<perplexed> "well, what's the question, shorty?"
Dwarven Namer <one-thousand-and-three, one-thousand-and-four,
one-thousand-and-five> "Thanks!"
Giant:<irritated mumble> "Bloody footstools!"

Cheers
Errol

Almost certainly an over-sight.

Weren't Hill Giants added to character gen? I remember the other kinds in
the bestiary of DQII but not Hill.

Cheers,
Martin

It's a test for starting Namers. If they haven't managed to acquire Hill
Giant within 6 months of becoming a Namer then they're fired.

I wish to deny the foul rumour that it is all a thought-experiment by the
more militantly subjective existentialist members of the Namers College.
If, on the other hand, anyone sees (or thinks they see) a creature with GTN
of "Test-Subject-1A," I'm sure the College would like to know. Yours
anonymously, Sincere Friend.

OOC: it must be an oversight. "Giant, Hill" is on SF's list, not marked
as an addition per se -- so there probably was an electron version
somewhere [years ago] that did list it.

regards, Michael

Demn! I meant to remind all that this approaching Sunday [or should that
read "that Sunday which we are approaching"] is the first of a month.
Meeting?

I think the meeting should be in the spirit of the day and as such:

1) I propose that that we convert the entire game, characters and all over
to Traveller:The New Era (the most awful version). The reasoning being that
we should work our way up to a non-broken system in incremental steps.

2) That maces be given a bonus to SC of 50, D of +4 and an extra attack each
pulse against opponents with 22+ AG. I think this will add an extra
dimension of excitement to battles.

3) That all binders and bards be executed by ducal decree along with mages
who are named Gavin. I just don't like them and owe Gavin 93,526 SP

4) That a new character race, half-devils be introduced.
