Adopting aspects of Toon could also deal with the difficult subject of character

Rather than dying, PCs could just get *whacked* and receive a 2 minute "time
out" while they peel themselves off walls, regenerate from slime, or remove
pointy objects from their heads -- all in an amusing fashion.

Hmmmm.....whats the difference between this and our current style? I mean
you die, you get to not interact for a few minutes and you get ressurected
:-)

I agree lets all play toon, DQ has got silly anyway we may as well formalise
the silliness :-)

I like my insanity in small doses. (Faith for instance - Errol)

Having silly, pathetic, snivling cowardly play(ers) adds to the ambiance and
allows me to shine through the dross (Sir Wojer - climb onto warhorse,
charge) or join in (Isil Eth - adjust hair, smile winsomely).
