Subject[dq] Rule Updates - a report
Fromclare@cs.auckland.ac.nz
DateMon, 10 Sep 2001 08:30:18 +1200
Well I went through and applied all the updates - just a few comments
that may help the unobservant (or which should be noted by the editors).

-- There is no Name list in the new Namer - I think this is a deliberate
decision, but you, like me, might want to keep the old name list
somewhere.

-- The old Ranger skill is on page 134 (not 139) and on the back of a
page from Philospher. You'll need to just strike a line through it and
insert the new page.

-- There is an error in the addition to 6.2 (Weapons). What should be
inserted is "(10sp for rank 0)", rank 10 still costs 1000sp.

-- The sections "Cantrips", "Detect Aura" and "College Magics" have been
incorrectly renumbered 7, 8 and 9. They should retain their old numbers,
8, 9 and 10.

-- Sub-section 19.10 obviously goes after sub-section 19.9 (not 9.8)

-- On the EP costs, Skills changes - Troubadour already has a
superscript of G which should be removed.

And lastly, I know this was mentioned at the Guild meeting, but the
following changes should be made to the new Combat section to clarify
the rules on stun recovery:

Page 17, Stunned Figures: the words "after their Action" should be
removed so that the second sentence of the section reads "A figure who
was Stunned during the Pulse gets an additional attempt to Recover from
Stun at the end of that Pulse."

Page 19, Stunning: the 7th bullet point should be altered, removing the
words "who became stunned after their Action" so that it reads "At the
end of the Pulse in which they were stunned, a figure may attempt to
Recover from Stun."

cheers,

clare

However at the Gods meeting previously the question was asked of GMs if
they had games to go on. Events at the Guild meeting itself (extra
adventures arriving, not all adverntures filling up) rather conspired
against the pre-plans.

The Names List has been moved to the Players Guide (and will be with the
spell prices). I was supposed to put it in the handout on Sunday but I
lost my copy of it
Sorry : - (

If people want a copy ask me in a couple of week when we have finished the
last errata run.

Yeah, this really threw me as Chair.

So, it really helps if GMs let the Chair (Struan next time) know about
adventures:

1) preferably before the gods meeting

or, if not possible

2) at the gods meeting

or, if not possible

3) just before the guild meeting, so it can go on the Chair's agenda.

Cheers
Errol

Subject[dq-announce] Namer Conversion errata

Hi folks,

One ommission from the printed Namer conversion document (my fault for
remembering it too late):

Names

Generic True Names require no conversion.

Individual True Names should be converted as follows:
Rank 0 stays Rank 0.
Rank 1 becomes Rank 2.
Rank 2 or higher becomes (Current Rank * 2) + 1.
    e.g. Rank 6 becomes Rank 13 ((6 * 2 + 1).

[Maximum Rank of 20 applies for any conversion].

A full electronic version of the Namer
Conversion document is available in my Vault.

Cheers,

Yes it was. As I recall that ended up in the Players Guide.

>-- The old Ranger skill is on page 134 (not 139) and on the back of a page

Yes. That's the page number in the new edition.

>-- There is an error in the addition to 6.2 (Weapons). What should be
>inserted is "(10sp for rank 0)", rank 10 still costs 1000sp.

Yes. It's been fixed in the latest PDF with the addition of (minimum
1) after the words 'Rank squared'

>-- The sections "Cantrips", "Detect Aura" and "College Magics" have been
>incorrectly renumbered 7, 8 and 9. They should retain their old numbers,
>8, 9 and 10.

That's been fixed too. Somehow, one of the section headings got misplaced
while the corrections were being made which upset all the numbering in the
version the corrected pages were lifted from.

>-- Sub-section 19.10 obviously goes after sub-section 19.9 (not 9.8)

Yes. The Celestial Lighting Modifiers (section 19.9) was moved after the
Light/Dark Aspects (19.10) for layout reasons. The two section numbers
should be swapped. Ross, please take note.

>-- On the EP costs, Skills changes - Troubadour already has a superscript
>of G which should be removed.

It has. Somehow 'E' got missed out which pushed the subsequent ones up one
too far. The errata sheets, and the latest revision, show the correct state
of affairs.

Yes. This still needs to be fixed in the latest revised PDF I have. Ross,
again please take note.

Keith.
