Subject[dq] Various Lists

Hi all

Some questions regarding lists:

1: Is the current Bestiary available on-line?

2: I have a list of all Magics (talents, spells, rituals) that I extracted
from the rulebook. It gives Name, College, and page number. Any problem with
making this available to everyone?

2a: I noticed that there are some instances of spells of the same name in
different colleges having inconsistent forms of storage available. Is an
oversight, or deliberate?

Cheers
Errol

Generally in the past this has been dealt with by people arbitrarily making
things blander by changing storage to match a standard.

Personally i think we should at random mix it all up again to add a little
interest to the spells. Generic standardisation is evil :-)

Yabbut it's so much more fun if as many spells (that exist in more than one
college) as are vaguely logical to can be stored in wards. Currently the
number of possible 'confusing' answers to the DA question 'Name of Spell'
(asked of a ward) is actually quite small (this is one reason I did the
exercise, I figured my Namer would know this).
If a DA-low party wimps out and asks 'counterspell required to suppress'
instead, then they don't know if the spell that returns 'None' or
'Un-colleged' is harmless or deadly!

"Simply put:<br>

<li>If it looks the same it should work the same."</li>

I'm very happy to have different College's spells have different effects
and different storage -- but if this is the case then they are not the same
spell and they should be given different names; if the Mind version of "Mind
Cloak" provides mental attack protection and the Witchcraft version does
not then rename one... as indeed was done for the Mind revision.<br>
  <br>
If on the other hand the two similarly named spells have all the same effect
except storage then that characteristic should be examined first -- is one
of them wrong? &nbsp;Does one version of this "Touch" range spell allow Warding?
Has one of them been arbitarily prevented from Potion storage when the usual
rules / logic would allow it?<br>
  <br>
I suggest this because Storage is a slightly odd case -- when it was first
added the idea was to add a simple explicit coding of allowable storage whereas
before that storage was implicit and inferred from certain rules (e.g. Spells
to be Warded must have a range, Self only spells could not be invested only
Potioned).<br>

were forwarded to the Guild as the heir was also absent. Low/med, Tuesdays,
Waterview

5) Sebastian (Noel) - A small pudgy person in good clothes introduced
himself as a merchant from Brandenburg. He has a lot of land there, near
the border, and it is being repeatedly raided from across the border. He's
rather annoyed about it but isn't popular with the local Duke so not much
is being done. He wants a party to discretely deal with the problem. He had
land in Carzala and is offering 3000 acres of it in payment. Medium. Any

Subject[dq] Precis: 1st Seedtime 802wk
FromStephen Martin
DateMon, 10 Mar 2003 15:54:51 +1200
Just a quick reminder of the cataclysmic events of 1/11/802 - details will follow
later.
As agreed with the surviving children of Xanadu, Baal was released from his
prison and allowed to return to Allusia.
Between the unlocking of his prison and his arrival at Eldamar on Terranova,
Isthu and Arhiman enacted the final stage of their plan and blew up Eldamar.
This resulted in the complete destruction of Eldamar, the destruction and dispersement
of Apollyons army, flooding of large parts of northern terranova, and an explosion
that could be heard as distant thunder in Seagate.
Baal arrived and stepped out of his prison in his natural form - a 400 foot
long white-gold dragon. He was met by the 12 children and grand-children of
Xanadu and then they all disapeared in a flash of light, none of them will be
seen in our world again.
About this point the small rift in reality that Baal returned through started
growing and the ugly one, an old god from a previous creation, believed to be
the one who corrupted Baal, started clawing his way in.
We welcomed him with two pieces of primal matter that had previously been used
in Baals prison, the combination of which caused an explosion that made light
and dark spheres colliding look like a backfired cantrip. Some of you may have
noticed the second sun that appeared in our skies for a while. When things
had settled down, the ugly one was gone and the rift closed.
Isthu and Arhimans planned destruction of Eldamar has resulted in the wastes
of northern Terranova being restored to life and fertility.
Our meddling with the primal forces of creation has resulted in Allusia having
a new moon. It is about 300 miles across and positioned between Allusia and
Luna. We named it Pellaran (sp?) after our ship which was destroyed in stopping
the ugly one. pellaran can be seen by those who study the moon as a brighter
spot that shadows a small part of the moon's surface.

We believe that all of the demonic emperors survived these events though Leviathan
may have been injured.
Iriloki (The Ruby Scourge) is presumably looking for a new home for himself
and his dark elf followers now that his old home of Eldamar is gone.
Arhiman has been reunited with his wife - the philosophical differences leading
to their 80,000 year seperation are believed to be resolved.
The dark elf cities in Terranova could be going through some extensive social
and political changes as they adjust from fighting over the limited resources
of their wastelands to living in what may be the most fertile land in the world.

btw For those that think they saw a 300 foot long flying fish and a 150 mile
long dragon around this time - you did.

The individual acts of bravery, self sacrifice, quick thinking, smart ideas
and fast talking that got us through this intact and led to what was probably
the best possible outcome are too numerous to mention here. I hope that you
all get to hear of some of them in the next few months.

Hmmm, not such quick note and this is only just covering the surface of events.

More to follow as we further understand the results of these events and document
our journey.

- Braegon.

[GM note] I dunno the stories these Adventurers tell.... :-)

Just to set the record straight on what PCs may or may not have observed
around Seagate...

Actually no. Reports of hearing the explosion have however come in from
Puerto Damieno and probably Pasifika.

Reports have come in from Kinlu of an exceptionally bright star that
shone the night of the 1st of Seedtime for several hours. At the time
it was day in Seagate and no "second sun" was observed.

OK... in this matter Braegon is essentially correct, although at 300
miles it should perhaps be considered a very tiny moonlet.

Some Astrologers are claiming that this will upset all of their readings
and require the construction of new astrological charts at considerable
expense. The retired guild sage Hieronomous Haynes has offered an
alternate opinion: "Poppycock! Such a minute body will have negligible
influence. They've simply gained something new to blame their cryptic
and inaccurate readings on".

>btw For those that think they saw a ... 150 mile long dragon around this time - you did.

200 miles long... and nobody saw anything... move along...
