Seems I've seen this debate for years on and off. Anything that plays with 
the minds of others in the fashion described is probably just too friggin 
complex.

I admit I haven't followed this thread this time, but why not just get rid 
of it or change it to some weird-ass mental skill where the mind bends light 
around the subject and that fails when unconciousness occurrs?

Would be easier to administer as a physical (light bend) effect.
