STG went belly up years ago.... about 8-10 in fact. Even before then it
became a joint STG / America, War gaming/RPG thing in about 1992/93 or there
abouts. America is also a wargaming club now, in an attempt(?) to revive
wargaming on campus. Unless things have changed without my knowledge
(possible)... BattleCry will be a joint wargaming/RPG/card gaming
competition ran by America as it has been for about the last 10 years.

I too assumed Battlecry was still a wargaming competition run by STG
(Strategists and Tacticians Guild).

the roleplaying competition was the "America's Cup".

AMERICA stood for "Association of Middle Earth Roleplaying and Individual
Character Assimulation" or so i vaguely recall.

I would be interested in finding out what the current status is.

Ex AMERICA! Humph. Us few ex-STG members remember it as a wargaming
competition, and none of this fantasy rubbish either!

Seriously, thanks for the heads-up.

Most of you will be aware of what BattleCry is, being ex AMERICA members and
the like. For those of you who aren't, it's one of the two anual
tournaments organized by the Auckland University roleplaying club. I'm not
100% sure on the details of it myself, but I will see about getting them
all.

Those running America this year have expressed a passing interest at
possibly having a DQ game run at battlecry, and a more than passing interest
at having all you other roleplayers along to the event.

Once I get the exact time and date I'll post it up on here, but for now,
could any senior GM's interested in writing and running a DQ game at
battlecry respond, and if there is any interest I'll put you through

I was just at the tavern and Aryan warning people that
the Orcs and Dwarves are plotting to burn down Seagate
any time now, and we have to protect ourselves and our
good names. Without that 'Carzarlan Rights Party' of
his those foreigners are going to destroy all weve
built, we must spread his call for satisfaction for us
humans!
