The way I remember seeing it played is 1), with some ability to find out
about what killed them (this normally is allowed for DA too?).

Bit of a grey area were GMs may choose to give more or less info for better
enjoyment IME - if you want old stuff it would pay to ask the GM if you can
learn what you are after before using up 3 hours of time.

Subject[dq] Language Groups

How do language groups work?

I would have though that a language would only be part of one family and on
group of languages but Drow, Ogre and Centaur Elvish and Purple-Old-Drow are
in two groups each?

What defines a grouping?

Based on the lack of consensus with current comments showing two people to
each option, is this something we should clarify within the rules?
