Have you ever though we binders (all of what 4 PCs), like I like that. We
are after all evil :-)
Personally I like being able to yell "hey you fetch my breakfast" at the
golem whose head is poking out of my pack, having activated it from the
warmth of my bed.
Not to mention being half way though fitting that tricky piece in some
mechanical trap and realizing you need an extra hand just there, NOW.
We've been fine with the talent for years and this is the first time anyone
has realized there is no x ft range.
Why do we need a fixed range?
Are you thinking we want to activate our golems from half way across the
continent?
What would be the point?
To put the kettle on so we can have hot tea when we get home?
How do I tell it what I want it to do?
Golems have a useful activation range, and therefore an implied activation
range it's the range of your voice. As "Golems must be verbally instructed",
if you were to activate one and it could not hear you instructions it would
probably just stand and wait or at best come looking for its master.
This means you could probably summon one from the next room, but delivering
a statue to activate from miles away later and have it kill someone would
not.
Remote activation is covered in instant golem under investment and wards,
one would think this would apply to magic traps too.
