No. I shall explain why when my thinking brain catches up
with the instinctive bit.

Assuming I'm able to go out twice a week I will be GMing a
game that is DC related.

Subject[dq] The Campaign Committee
FromChris Caulfield
DateMon, 8 Aug 2005 11:02:53 +1200 (NZST)
Hi all,
Some people have been wondering what the Campaign Committee does and why
it was formed so this is just a little bit of PR about the Campaign
Committee.

The Campaign Committee was formed to 'support and encourage Multi GM
Campaign events here on Alusia'.

The current main aim is to conclude the Dark Circle plotline which has
continued for the last 20 years or so (Rashak was first noted in 781 and
then she and her allies attacked the guild infirmary killing most of the
healers in 783).

We are working to resolve the Dark Circle and have detailed timelines
(which covered the past year and will go on into the next year) of what
events will occur if there is no PC involvement in these events.

We want PCs to be directly involved, to adventure within in the Dark
Circle storyline and for the end result to reflect that PC involvement.
Anyone wanting to do something about the DC (either as PC or as a GM) just
let us know. PC interaction will enable us to end the plotline on a high
note and flesh out the world we all play in.

Other aims are to
- 'Develop the Western Kingdom and the Baronies to provide more detail &
texture for GM's to utilise in their games'
- 'Promulgation and publication of information regarding these areas in
media accessible to players and GM's'. (The DQ Wiki is becoming a superb
source of information for all things DQ)
- Create or enhance existing Alusian maps, particularly of Western Alusia
areas such as the Baronies, WK, etc

Subject[dq] Weather Control
FromNoel\ Livingston\ \(DSL\ AK\)
DateMon, 8 Aug 2005 11:26:49 +1200
My character Carie (retired) used this ritual & caused much destruction
quite by accident, when retired she had R15 and could freeze the ocean.
Currently when you say move the rain up 3 levels, sure it starts raining
but the next day which was going to be naturally rainy suddenly becomes
torrential instead.

What would have been preferrable is for the wording of the ritual to
allow moving the weather to a desired range rather than up or down. This
would allow the wiccan or air mage to say I wish the weather to be sunny
with light clouds and a high of 26 and light winds and the weather
components to be shifted towards this ideal. Making all three components
be defined also limits the chances of extreme weather except at very
hight levels.

This would make the spell usable for good wiccans to make perfect
growing weather.

Cheers Noel

My understanding is once the weather control is in effect then normal
weather "doesn't normally add" to the effect, but it's more replaced with
the control.

Subject[dq] Dark Circle Forces reach the coast north of Seagate
FromIan\ at\ dawn\'s\ haven
DateMon, 8 Aug 2005 21:20:47 +1200
Guild Security update for 18th Snow, being Week 7 of Winter Season, 805

__If you go north to the woods today__
Guild members have recently confirmed reports by merchants, travelers and
military scouts that Forces allied to the Dark Circle have reached the coast
north of Carzala.

Rashak's forces swept north of the Sweetwater River and through Finns Waste.
Other forces maintained pressure on our defensive positions between Regar's
Keep and Arn's Ferry. New Defensive lines are being prepared on the hills
just 20 miles north and east of Seagate.

Seagate is cut off from the rest of Alusia, at least for land transport.
Flying requires a significant detour out to sea, although seaborne trade is
unaffected. Travel and trade to Mordeaux and Bowcourt must now go by sea,
which will take much longer.

The stars seem very bright at night.

__First Army Arrives at War Front__
The first contingent of reinforcements from Aquila, Bowcourt and Aladar,
sometimes called the First Army of the Alliance, have arrived in northern
Mordeaux. Their original plans were to march to Carzala and support the
advance on Rashak. Instead, she came to them, and they are now very close to
the front line, so to speak. Observers suggest however, that they could do
with some further training. "Training and discipline are vital, so don't
expect too much from them as undisciplined troops tend to end up dead and
fighting against us" said Baron Upskala of Aquila.

__Raids disrupt Rashak's Supplies
Small forces of Aladarian troops, supported by Guild members, have destroyed
much of Rashak's supply organisation and muster points between Carzala and
Brastor. The disruptions mean fewer reinforcements are arriving to assault
the defensive wall between Regar's Keep and Arn's Ferry.

__Church Disrupts Callup for Second Army__ The Church of the Western Kingdom
has called on knights to directly joint its forces, offering indulgences,
and even benefices to those that lead several knights and sergeants. This
unfortunately conflicted with the mustering of forces for the Second
Deployment - commonly called the Second Army of the Alliance - as knights
have begun to haggle for their services.
