The sherrif of southgate in Ranke, curse his black soul, sent a force of several hundred freemen into the field of battle, using them without their knowledge as bait to draw out ghouls who he suspected were buried underground. When they were attacked and being eaten alive, unable to defend themselves due to the complete lack of silvered weapons, he had his archers who he had pre-positioned to arrow storm the area with silvered arrows. The few surviving freemen who broke and fled he declared cowards and deserters, charging them with his mounted troops. A week later on one of the largest breakthroughs of the war occurred which was stopped three miles south of Boulton by the 8th irreglars a group of youngsters led by a few retired soldiers who armed with silvered pikes forced marched and ran the ten miles from seagate to intercept. Over forty died of the hundred and sixty troops with a dozen of the badly wounded being sent back to the guild for healing which has become turned into something of a field hospital. Many of the hundred or so ghouls fought were found to have papers amounst their tattered clothing identifing them as being vassals of the sherrif of southgate, few had armour. -- to unsubscribe notify mailto:dq-pub-request@dq.sf.org.nz -- |

Informed comments by guild members who have served recently in the struggle against the D.C. Southgate is in Ranke, on the far side of the northern salient of the Dark Army. It is under siege from directly across the river. There is no direct line of travel between the northern salient and the main force assaulting southern Carzala. Papers may have been planted by D.C. commanders to break morale. Bolton is 20 miles inside the great southern wall, which the Dark Army from Brastor reaches by the third week of Spring. This wall is not significantly breached in the first month. Some small pockets of undead, such as those reported near Bolton, have been dropped in or slipped past under cover of darkness. The Guild healers is not being used for general wounded. This is a rumour put about to scare people and reduce the number of guild members insisting on their daily Fatigue top-up. Some elite troops whose commanders have relationships with guild council have been taking advantage of reciprocal arrangements. This has resulted in the Guild setting up a field hospital in Seagate for those injured who are not near the main field hospital at Regar's Keep. -----Original Message----- From: dq-pub-owner@dq.sf.org.nz [mailto:dq-pub-owner@dq.sf.org.nz] On Behalf Of Jonathan Bean Sent: Friday, 23 September 2005 2:26 p.m. To: dq-pub@dq.sf.org.nz Subject: Re: [dq-pub] Passed on by wounded troops being treated at the guild Any chance we can gain the date that these events happened please?
