I ran a combat last night and had a double damage(17*2) 34pt bolt of
fire end up doing 1pt of fatigue damage, whereas if it had been 35points
it would have been massive damage and killed the character. Does this
just seem weird to me, huge mega blast of fire, take 1 damage.

Not quite mega enough!

Yes, it's slightly weird. There being weirdness at some semi-artibary value
is a consequence of having a breakpoint between FT and EN.

There are other arbitrary weirdness' (?) in combat - stunning for instance.

Cheers
Errol

PS If 35 was 1 more than full EN + full FT, then the target would be on -1
EN, which isn't dead yet. You require (1.5x Full EN) + Full FT in one hit to
kill outright.

Not really a huge issue Noel. Magical damage does not do Endurance damage.

Ok, it is applied to END if Fatigue is zero, and
It instantly kills if the total damage is more than 1.5*END +FT.

That last FT point is vital, so take a healing potion quick to get some
back!

It is a simple system to stop many spells from killing outright, which I
like. Greater reality requires greater complexity in the rules. Simple is
good, within reason...

PC goes "whew"
