I'd therefore like to finish it off with the aim of issuing ver 3 by the Dec meeting. By issuing I actually mean loading the PDF onto the Wiki and other relevant web sites for players to print for themselves : - ) Taking the Outstanding Issues List from the Wiki the current state of play follows. The stuff in italics needs action - if any one has quick answers or comments to these let me know by email. Adventuring skills Quick sheet for ranking is incorrect: current line = Non Magic Abilities // Learning Time // Ranking Time // With Trainer // Without Trainer // Cost // Notes Adventuring skills // n/a // 1 week x new rank required // extensive use only // 150*Rank // No time/trainer needed if used on adventure => What would you like this to say? How about: Adventuring skills // n/a // may learn 1 rank while adventuring if used extensively with tutor available ////// 150*Rank // may also learn like other skills (could add explicit line for standard ranking and drop comment) Adventuring skills // n/a // 1 week x new rank // 10% EP discount // 25% EP penalty // 150*Rank // if learnt using standard skill method Other options seem messier to me. How about matching the order of items in the table with 7.3? Also is it worth mentioning the MA limit (or pointing to it) on the table? It is easy to overlook. Ranking = Done * Add a sentence clarifying split ranking, as per Rule Book clarification. Rule book will say: "Time spent training for a particular rank of an ability may be interrupted by other activity (including being on adventure). However training for a given rank must be completed within 6 months of starting training for that rank." Added sentence "If you don't have enough time in one block to finish a rank in an ability you may split the time up but all training for a given rank must be completed within 6 months of starting it." * 7.3.6 Names needs to spell out that it is possible to rank 1, 2 or 3 Names at the same time Wording changed to: "Ranking a Name does not require EP, takes rank x weeks to gain rank, and can be done in instead of or addition to any other ranking; ie Namer's may rank 1, 2 or, if doing no other ranking, 3 names at once." How about "Ranking a Name does not require EP, takes rank x weeks to gain rank, and can be done in addition to any other ranking; It can also replace ranking any single magical or non-magical ability; ie Namers may rank 1 name while learning two related abilities, 2 names with one ability or, if doing no other ranking, 3 names at once." > Not sure I want my home email address on the web site > either. No, it's not a good idea to have e-mail addresses online because of spam-bots, and I'd rather mine not be there - I'm getting too much spam as it is, spam filters irregardless. However, using graphics to display the email address should at least slow them down. Also, if the wiki site goes down, or is otherwise unavaliable, I'd rather contact details be printed in the Guide. It will not always be convienient to access the Wiki for details when you need them, and some people do not have regular internet access who may require them. Basically, I'd rather not put all our eggs in one basket. Keith -- to unsubscribe notify mailto:dq-request@dq.sf.org.nz -- |
