Does anyone know conclusivly if its possible to have two healers
regenerating you at once? Say one regrowing each arm. In theory this would
greatly cut down the time to regenerate someone missing large parts of ther=
e
body.

Dylan

P.S. This isn't just a random question. A fellow adventurer of mine lost
about as much of his body as its possible to lose and still be ressurected.
He's going to be out for ages if we can't find a way to speed it up.

You know as well as I do that the meaningless whittering on would go on and on
and on, and all over a particular degree of measure or if fractions were too
hard to think about and all the other minor crap that this was about.

Soon, it would have become a major rulebook issue that wouldn't have been able
to be changed until the next rulebook comes out, and all because everyone
wanted to discuss trivial points too valueless to be believed.

Yes, I agree, most people were in agreement. But, they were not clear that they
were in agreement, and they were talking crap about the most unimportant
drivel, in such a way as to make it appear that they thought it was important.

I don't mind the sort of side comment that goes off onto a tangent and discusses
things which might or might not be useful, but this was a very simple issue,
made more complicated by everyone chipping their two penn'orth, all of them
agreeing, and none of them contributing anything very valuable. Not everything
has to be, I agree, but this was discussion just for the sake of talking about
something.

And, as a response to shouting, Struan and a few others started to look at the
issue and declare their position in a way that is direct enough so that the
person charged with keeping a track of this kind of detail can work out what is
required.

So, no, Martin, I don't think it was misplaced at all. I think it was well past
time.

Jim

Please ignore this rant. I meant to send this directly to Martin, and failed the
IQ test.

My apologies.

We had a situation in the last session where a party me3mber had both
shoulders shattered. So, myself and another healer were regenerating
a shoulder each.

So I'd say yes, as long as the two healers are not working on the same arm.

I quite agree ... let's get it in there as it should be there. GMs
can sort out their own conversions if they need to.

I would presume as many healers as the GM will allow can work on the
body. That's what GM's are for to tell you what can and cannot happen.
While I would say in general multiple healers can work on the same body
there are too many factors to have a defined rule on this and so your GM
will be able to tell you how things work in this specific instance.

OK - consider what it is you're trying to achieve then see if you can
find something close to fit.

Soothe the toothache - easy enough - Rank 2 Soothe pain.

Fixing a small chip - Rank 6 - Repair Bones

Cavities - I'd go for Rank 7 - especially if it's a big one, as
you're repairing the enamel and the tissue inside it. Realigning
would also be Rank 7.

However, if they're that badly decayed, use a mallet to knock them
out and regenerate. Rank 9 should be enough to regenerate a tooth.
Remember the core is alive with blood and nerves - which would be the
same for a limb.

That's how I'd call it anyway.

Hmmm ... dentisty - a sideline for Phaeton.

Don't forget,

Rank 3 Orator to counsel against the eating of sweets.
Rank 1 Assassin/Rank 2 Artisan Torturer, to ensure the dentistry hurts.
Rank 8 Merchant to gouge the wallet as much as possible.

Plus 1 assistant called Gladys to hold tools and help the patient spit.

Hi everyone.

Could we please hold off on non-rulebook issues for a day or two until a
couple of things impacting the rulebook (brought up in the last week) are
addressed?

There is a limit to the number of emails most people are prepared to read
per day. I need the list's input on a couple of things if we are to avoid
problems later on. So please hold off on the topics that have generated 300+
posts in the last week until Wednesday.

Thanks

Hi all,

I think you should ask your GM directly (thats me) regarding the two
healers, as you are asking about a game that is currently running, and not
about the rules in general.
Fine effort for asking, but details on the events in my game can be asked of
me.

When I said you are all welcome to ask on the DQ Mailing list regarding who
and what rank of PC healers is at the guild and if they are willing to
fix/heal your party member I was talking about that. Other matters like the
detail you should direct in my direction.

Kind regards,

P.S. This isn't just a random question. A fellow adventurer of mine lost
about as much of his body as its possible to lose and still be ressurected.

Also Dylan use the DQ pub list for in game stuff. This list is 'rules'
/ 'collective game world' posts only.

Your questions seems to be enquiring information from other guild
healers, thus is an in game question.

    Hi all,

I think you should ask your GM directly (thats me) regarding the two
healers, as you are asking about a game that is currently running, and not
about the rules in general.

Fine effort for asking, but details on the events in my game can be
asked of me.

When I said you are all welcome to ask on the DQ Mailing list regarding
who and what rank of PC healers is at the guild and if they are willing to
fix/heal your party member I was talking about that. Other matters like the
detail you should direct in my direction.

    Kind regards,

P.S. This isn't just a random question. A fellow adventurer of mine
lost about as much of his body as its possible to lose and still be

The calendars on the Wiki do not appear to have the key as to which moon
symbol is which. Could someone let me know whats what and I will go an
add it. Or the person who knows could add it :-)

I was always under the impression that Artisan skills did not require a
Masterwork to advance above 8. However I cannot find any rule that
supports that.

Are they required? Or are Artisan skills like Adventuring skills and
have an excemption?

3 points:

1: Did you have any particular logic behind this thought, or was it just one
of those things that you 'know' (like many of us 'knew' about needing to
complete a rank's ranking within 6 months.) I didn't see any 'realism'
requirement for an exemption, is there a game reason?

2: Where is the adventuring skill exemption, because I can't find it. (it
clearly should be there somewhere IMO, probably in more places.) It's in the
old Player's Guide.

3: Is there something missing at the end of Swimming?
"Benefits of Rank
A trained swimmer receives certain combat abilities
as they rise in rank."
==end section==

Since the idea of "masterworks" has come out of the apprentice / journeyman
/ master structure of medieval and later trades, masterworks are very
appropriate for Artisan skills... perhaps even more appropriate than for
say, Ranger, or Warrior, or some other skills.

On the flip-side, and from a game pov, they are more character interest
skills than hard adventuring ones, and the masterworks for them should not
be overly onerous.

So, my opinion, yes there should be Artisan masterworks, but the standard /
bar for these could be a bit lower than for other skills.

Martin

Nope Just knew it in the same way all of our unwritten rules are well
unwritten and not consistant. Hence the query.

Was about to write something similar.
I have always believed Artisan skills to require masterworks but it is just a matter of coming up
with something original and/or significant for your skill. Usually out of game actions are fine
and a quick sanity check with your next GM.

E.g. A painter might take a week or two of game time to paint a mural on the guild wall
demonstrating our heroic endeavours against the dark circle.

Cheers, Stephen.

Seems right to me. The rule on Rank 8+ is nice and vague, just what is
wanted to cover the wide range of circumstances:

6.Ranking
Skill ranks 8, 9, and 10 must be ratified by a
GM and in general required significant use of the
skill.

Doh. Sorry about this all. Guess I should have put a little more thought
into it. I was just overly excited about an idea that might cut down the
time he was unavailable to adventure. As soon as I saw the posts saying I
should have asked my GM directly I realised they were indeed right.
