On the subject of guild meetings, do people realise that there are players out there who have never attended a guild meeting? As to the subject of people not attending because of kids, a possible solution might be to throw a $1 per head or so at a non-pc spouse or teenager (if anyone has one) to wrangle the brats (can you tell I don't have kids) for the duration of the meeting. Maybe organise some pens and paper or games away from the rest of the proceedings. Is it time or location or both that is a factor in non-attendance? Also I for one would like to hear about the adventures that are going out even if they are prebooked because it add to the sense of a growing, interactive and vital world. Not to mention that it shows any F.N.Gs that the campaign is alive and well? A page on the wiki showing who is out, who is in and who is incomunicado would also be helpful, especially when your trying to find a particular member to perchase services off of. The whole point of the voted new paragraph saying old rune was under = review was to allow players to play one, a place holder in the rule book = doesn't encourage this. A copy of 2.1.5 and an its in playtest and may/will change statement is = better.
