The major benefit is that people on the current adventure remember what is going on: who is called what; what the provisional plan is; a reminder of what spells everyone will have when they go into the big combat ...
Hence I give bonus EP if reliable scribe notes are sent out after each *significant* game night

This is particularly helpful if (no doubt because the party spent so long faffing around earlier) the GM has given the *wrong* name for a place or NPC; or recycled an unused NPC that the party randomly missed earlier; or made some other change on the fly (e.g., because the current tempo or mood is wrong). PCs often come up with the unexpected, and the GM cannot concentrate on everything at once -- it helps to have the players' interpretation of what has happened as soon as possible.

Always .. IF (big IF) there are previous scribe note that exist for the NPCs & places that the party is going. Even if it is just to correct the information, or to realise that someone from Security or the Library comes in to say "Actually, we hear that that regime has fallen; we think the information may be out of date..."

To a certain extent, that aspect can now be replace by the Wiki -- but not always. Also, sometimes I'm looking for ways to attach a sequel, and sometimes it is better to focus on minor aspects that made it into the scribe notes.
