I've been looking as well and I can't find any reference to either
Herkum or Maia beinmg found.

However, there seems to be a reference somewhere of Herkum being the
person doing the high ranked Greaters lately, maybe in a revised
version of the Player's Guild. What was the odds he made it back
under his own power and resources? Or is this a case of mistaken identity?

SEAGATE GUILD OF ADVENTURERS
Guild meeting Minutes
Winter 804 WK

0) GM's Meeting

a) Adventure Summaries: Now that most scribe notes are on the Wiki it
was asked if these were still needed. People were reminded that the
summaries at the meeting were supposed to be really short. It was
also suggested that a summary paragraph be appended to each set of
scribe notes.

b) Adventures Wanted: This was generally seen to be a good idea and
would hopefully inspire people to GM. However, it was pointed out
that it was the potential GM who had to put in the work of running
the adventure and that it was up to them whether they ran or not.
However, anyone who wanted to GM could check the list for potential
players. There was some concern that advertising adventures on the
Wiki could eliminate the need for Guild meetings but they were still
required for the awarding of the Awards and could become a more
social event for people to get together and swap stories on an informal basis.

c) Guild Council: Herkum and Maia are still listed as 'missing'. (Any
references to Herkum in any notes after the attack may well be a case
of mistaken identity). Ex adventurer Corel and Ettienne (the current
head of the Air College) have been nominated to an open position.

1) Adventures Going Out

a) Winter Games (Jono/Jon/William/Greg): This takes place in the
Lunar Empire. Four parties will be involved on Tuesday nights and
individuals will be swapped between each GM as the situation demands
it. There will be three competing teams and one group running
'interference'. All groups will be in Blockhouse Bay and all games
will be on Tuesdays. The initial meeting will be at Jono's place.

b) Search for the Lost Temple (Struan): Three ladies: Corella,
Latitia and Cordellia seek assistance looking for Corella's husband
and soon to be father, Kern. Kern is looking for a Temple of Divine
Earth in Flugelheim but hasn't returned yet. So the party is to find
him then find the Temple. Medium, Mondays. Two places available (now full).

c) A representative (Bernard) requires a group to provide security
for an estate in the Lunar Empire. Low/medium. Tuesdays.

Overflows will be arranged if there are players still seeking a game.

Victoria also announced that she will be requiring a party in the
next session to help her with a job for her benefactor.

2) Awards

Smartest
a) Gerrad - used an illusion to replace a guard in a guardpost so the
party could sneak in.
b) Robinton - for assessing a situation, deciding it was too
dangerous and advising the party to leave.
c) Maeve - The party were facing cultists and their allies. Instead
of taking time out to solve the various puzzles, she said 'Last one
in gets resurrected'. The party charged in and won.
d) Shoka - Managed to work out where the harpies were

         Winner - Robinton

Bravest
a) Lizette - During the big fight, took the risk of sacrificing half
her brain to perform a resurrection
b) Ithilmor - The party were in an icy tunnel facing some rather
dangerous looking foes. While the fighters were sorting themselves
out Ithilmor stepped up and evaded their attacks armed only with a dagger.

         Winner - Lizette

Stupidest
a) Theodona - Cuddles, Robinton's English sheepdog companion, was
taking an unusual interest in Theodona. When asked why, Theodona said
"I'll show you" and changed into a rat form. Cuddles promptly ate her.
b) Lizette - She had been told specifically that no items from either
the PoL or the PoD were to be brought into the Lunar Empire. Against
orders she took in her glowing angelic chain armour which created
problems with the local Inqusition. She also said she had Holy Water
which resulted in the party being kicked out of the Empire. Also,
during the big combat, she threw Keesha out a window after being told
to stay put.
c) Sir Christopher - kept firing off spells while under severe penalties

         Winner - Theodona

Best Death
a) Theodona - for being consumed by Cuddles
b) Ono - managed to get a gem stuck in his head that was taking him
over. A Sack of Devouring was used to remove it
c) Kishwa - was dragged off and beheaded. Two bursts of dragonflames
also hit the head during combat and the body was thrown into a stake pit.
d) Everin - Summoned an uncontrolled elemental then laid down an
agony field. The elemental caught up to him.

         Winner - Theodona

3) Other business

a) Lizette was fined 3,000sp and put on a probationary status for the
next twelve months for actions on the last session including
disobeying the party leader and endangering the party.

b) Aqualina apologised, on behalf of the owners of the Sea Goddess
Haven, for the lack of service recently owing to matters 'beyond
their control'. It is hoped that the situation is 'temporary' and
normal service of the pleasure ship is 'resumed shortly'.

c) Errol went through the magor changes in the rule book. All the
changes are detailed on the Wiki

d) Menelly reminded people about the Serenity viewing day on the 30th
of June at the Sky City Village Movies in Queen Street at 6:30pm.

I've started a new Rulebook order list at
http://www.dragonquest.org.nz/dqwiki/index.php/Rulebook_Orders
<http://www.dragonquest.org.nz/dqwiki/index.php/Rulebook_Orders>

Everyone please advise those that might be interested.

Also, I forgot to mention in the meeting:
The Bound Rulebooks (from the main print run) were closer to $13 than $15.
I'll be throwing the extra change (that was too fiddly to deal with at the
meeting) into the hall hire/ Seagate Times fund at the next meeting. So if
you got a BOUND Rulebook from me at the June Meeting, consider your next
meeting contribution paid.

Cheers
Errol

The 2006 Rulebook is now available for download from

<http://www.dragonquest.org.nz/files/documents/Rules2006.zip> (thanks

Or follow the link at

which also as links to various related Wiki pages.

The Warehouse Stationery managed to change their pricing structure since I
first investigated prices a few weeks ago, so the prices may be
substantially lower (perhaps $10 and $15). However they managed to give me a
quote using the single-sided rate (which would be even lower), so I'm not
promising anything until I've handed over the money.

Cheers
Errol

I'll be getting the printing done tomorrow, so put your orders in by tonight
please.

If anyone wants to pay me electronically, send me an e-mail and I will give
you my details.

Note that there are a large number of changes, in many locations, and I
recommend getting a new rulebook (by some means).

I will have my laptop available at the Guild Meeting to copy the rulebook
PDF (and anything else that I have around, like the GM Guide) to USB drive
or CD. It will also be available via the Wiki. I'm doing a check of last
night's 'Final' version that Struan and I made this evening, so it should be
there tomorrow.
I'll also have a page to note issues, as well as a change summary.

Cheers
Errol

Subject[dq] a question about beasts
FromMenolly
DateSun, 11 Jun 2006 17:04:23 +1200
I'm hoping someone can help with some OOC questions, as I'm trying to write
up some stuff to do with Briar, Menolly's puppy and something she wants to
research/look into/do this quarter. I've had a look through the wiki and
other resources and haven't really found what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for information on dog breeds in Alusia, what's there, what are
they called, any unusual ones, any off-planes ones brought to Alusia etc, in
particular....

1) Have any GM's mentioned or used any dog breeds, that are not the usual
run-of-the-mill earth dog breeds, in Alusia, in games? In fact, are all the
past and/or present earth breeds available on Alusia?

2) Are there any unusual off-plane breeds of dogs that have been brought
into Alusia for breeding/working etc or brought in by characters as
companions, that is public knowledge?

3) There is a farm mentioned on the wiki, called Strecker's Farm, with the
primary contact: Master Bowgone WormRider. Is there a particular person/gm I
should talk to if I want to interact with the farm or Master Bowgone, with a
special task in mind?

Help?

Karen
