On the whole the fantasy genre tends to run the other way: that ancient
magical armour is worth far more (either in estimation or esteem) than some
new fangled gimcrackery.

Items may be damaged or destroyed in the course of play, but they do not
depreciate. Old magic items are precious family heirlooms -- not tax
writeoffs.

While some magic items may become less effecacious over time this is
restricted to those items with defined expiration dates.

Anyway does anyone have an official list of magic item depreciation tables?
