Just out of interest, how many Kiwis are on this list
(a few I imagine, the place is well known for being a
den of DQ fanatics). And why on earth are you called
"The America Club"?

All the best,

Lev

Ignore me, I just realised this *was* the NZ list... I
thought it was the DQ-news or rules list.

Oops.

All the best,

Lev

(seriously off topic) :)

Umm, rumor has it that way back in the past a president of the club thought
being called "The President of America" would be a great pick-up line, and
they then came up with an acronym for America: Academy of Middle Earth
Roleplaying and Individual Character Assimilation. And since that was 20+
years ago, we are kinda stuck with it. People have tried to change it, and
it's been quickly changed back... :)

That's funny.

The sf/fantasy/gaming club I started at Murdoch Uni
some twenty years ago is called the Murdoch
Alternative Reality Society, or MARS. So, "President
of MARS".

We had (very friendly) competition with a neighbouring
university club called the Curtin Imagination
Association; the CIA.

It provided great opportunity for 'laser games' of
"The Invaders from Mars versus the CIA".

All the best,

Lev

At Princeton University (where I was a graduate student), first came USG
(Undergraduate Student Government - the student's association), then SGU
(Strategic Gaming Union - the roleplayers/boardgames) and then the GSU
(Graduate Student Union). The SGU members were contemplating creating
GUS, SUG and USG clubs to complete the set.
