Subject	[dq] Who holds the masters for the Maps of the Western Kingdom

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0000_01CD9A40.F09DA4A0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hey all, I have been reviewing the maps of the Western Kingdom (wiki, personal, very old and a large folio called 'Dragon-Quest-maps.pdf') (I am GMing there). I wonder if the owners of the originals (and the software to create them) could contact me off list. In particular: BowcourtGreenBig.jpg Aquila_borders.jpg Bowcourt.gif Drakenburg-Port_Arts_Detailed_+_Aquila_borders_copy.jpg Western_Kingdom_and_Cities.jpg MapWK.gif WK after martin.gif (this last may be my edited naming) These all look stunning, and would, individually, constitute an excellent resource. Unfortunately taken together they are contradictory in places and need minor corrections in others. Nothing extreme but I am campaigning here and it would help me to get a semblance of consistency. And for Northern Barretry to be where one map puts Lotharia and Nevers (which may require those counties to be shifted, and hence everything else in Bowcourt). For Bordelay to be consistently outside the Western Kingdom. That Lupine Wood is called Sylvanwold on some maps is fine by me, as a local encounter will mean about the same thing either way. I think many were created in Campaign Cartographer. Could someone make sure Martin gets this email, as I think he has the originals,? Once we concatenate the originals perhaps some of us could coalesce to collapse the multi-view. Some of the maps are probably mine out of CC, and were an attempt to reconcile previous inconsistent maps. Borderlay's position and shape were altered I seem to recall from Michael's original map (created by Amelia?), and discussed with him at the time... Lupine is the name of the wood, Sylvanwold is the adjacent Barony. Borderlay has, I thought, always been part of the WK, and Nevers and Lotharia are in the SW, and the map has been up on the wiki in its current form / shape for over 4 years... Also the border between Aquila and Bowcourt was east of the Baratary River, up by Mittlemarch any way. Does anyone have maps from 1995 and the war? I have one of Aladar west of the Ffenagh River but it cant be correct as it lists Barretkyne but does not show it, and shows the County of Reskyou but does not list it - that that where Barretskyne is means to be? I think Chris' map of Aladar correctly places its border with Aquila. However I have several maps that are post-bending and contradict each other. Several by you. I am attempting to resolve these inconsistencies by asking for everyone who has maps, including Rosemary, to help out. I know Chris is doing an excellent job. In the past I have ignored erroneous maps and just gone from memory (having GMed several times across Bowcourt, Bordelay, MMH, Aquila, Tuscana and Aladar). I am currently GMing down the Ffenagh and up the Baratary. With the new drow campaign there is the off-chance that (several) other GMs may run games in this area, so it would be sensible to have consistent maps. (I know Chris is running one and we will discuss maps tomorrow night.) I wonder if the owners of the originals (and the software to create them) could contact me off list. In particular: BowcourtGreenBig.jpg Aquila_borders.jpg Bowcourt.gif Drakenburg-Port_Arts_Detailed_+_Aquila_borders_copy.jpg Western_Kingdom_and_Cities.jpg MapWK.gif WK after martin.gif (this last may be my edited naming) These all look stunning, and would, individually, constitute an excellent resource. Unfortunately taken together they are contradictory in places and need minor corrections in others. Nothing extreme but I am campaigning here and it would help me to get a semblance of consistency. And for Northern Barretry to be where one map puts Lotharia and Nevers (which may require those counties to be shifted, and hence everything else in Bowcourt). For Bordelay to be consistently outside the Western Kingdom. That Lupine Wood is called Sylvanwold on some maps is fine by me, as a local encounter will mean about the same thing either way. I think many were created in Campaign Cartographer. Could someone make sure Martin gets this email, as I think he has the originals,? Once we concatenate the originals perhaps some of us could coalesce to collapse the multi-view.
