Yes, but to be a stickler, Keith's phrasing below suggests we can ask our GM if our plate will stack with a suit of mail we just bought. My recollection of the (Gods) rules is that armour does not stack. To be simple, anything that provides Protection will not stack with anything else that provides Protection, choose the best effect. I cant find this in the 2010 rules, but if my recollection is in error then I would like the ruling on stacking armour put into the rules. (The rules do state that plate armour etc includes Cloth, so that cannot be added.) Bespoke GM provided adventure loot can be different, but the default is that armour does not stack. So unless the GM write up says it stacks, it doesn’t. Ok, so get a clarification, in writing, from the GM who provided said loot. I am being pedantic as these minutes tend to get quoted, even when there wasn’t a vote or official ruling. Just some advice to a GM. I am sure that someone will tell me if I am wrong in this, Ian > -----Original Message----- > From: dq-owner@dq.sf.org.nz [mailto:dq-owner@dq.sf.org.nz] On Behalf Of > Stephen Martin > Sent: Tuesday, 11 December 2012 12:01 p.m. > To: dq@dq.sf.org.nz > Subject: Re: [dq] Guild meeting minutes - Summer 813 > > Key point was to clarify with the GMs who wrote the items - only they know > what they intended. > Asking your current GM each time for their interpretation is a p.i.t.a. > for them. > If the original GMs are no longer available then you could ask your > current GM to make a > ruling and update your write up. > > Dean also pointed out that a key consideration is whether the garments > could be reasonably > worn together and whether the enchantments are compatible. Good point. I was just thinking about GM issued unique write-ups. Standard armour out of the book does not stack. Or rather the stacking is already included as in the Plate sits over the chain over the padding with some leather thrown in for good measure. I suggest expanding the note under the Armour Chart (there is even plenty of room for a short para without repagination). Something in 6.11 Combat/Damage? 'A figure can only benefit from one Armour Type.'? Something in Armoursmith? All of this is of course over-writeable by specific non-standard item/ability write-up, as normal. PanDoc - open source, multi-platform claims to do the job from Latex to ePub (and other formats). http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/ Calibre as Struan mentioned also handles LaTex to ePub (via html) Or the generally recommended approach is LaTex to HTML then HTML to ePub. I think this has always been a thing handled by convention, and that it is (or has been) that the source is what makes armour non-stackable.
