Subject[dq] Greater Enchantment
FromStephen Martin

It being a few years since it was changed I thought it might be time to review the new version.

The main goals of the previous edit were:
1. To have less characters wandering around with +21 on everything.
2. To make it more beneficial to have an E&E with GE in your party (i.e. more of a party buff
than a pre-game money sink).

Many High+ level characters have managed to acquire permanent old style +20 on everything
Greaters and those that haven't presumably have it on their list. Whatever we have done or do
with GE probably won't have much impact on them so let's ignore them for this discussion.

If you don't have an E&E in the party, +15 to 21 on one area for one season can be acquired
from PC E&Es fairly cheaply and easily.
I haven't seen much sign of this being done. Are PCs doing this? What are they getting it on?
Are many PCs below High level paying the material cost for extra or full coverage?

Is the material cost too expensive or about right (12,000 for +21 on everything for one season)?

When there is an E&E with ranked GE in the party, I have seen it being used extensively but
with frequent arguments and/or confusion over what areas it is on.
I think what it affects needs to be broadened. A few options:
a) It affects everything for a day for all those within 10' of the caster at time of casting.
- Very simple.
b) As per a) but with lesser effect e.g. 5% +1% per 2 full ranks. - Simple again but less
powerful.
c) Additional areas at higher ranks - every 4 ranks you can add one area instead of an
additional target or day. - No better at low ranks and more powerful at higher ranks.

Could I get your GM/Player Opinions/perceptions on this please.

Thanks, Stephen.

Subject[dq] Warrior 3.02
FromStephen Martin
DateThu, 5 Sep 2013 15:13:16 +1200
The Warrior Special abilities have stalled for a while, I have updated them based on feedback
and experience and incorporated most of the suggested subskills.

http://www.dq-nz.org/dqwiki/index.php?title=Warrior_3.0#Proposed_Special_Abilities

We're going to have a bit of Warrior activity this season, I'd like to give the Special
Abilities one final trial this season then vote to approve or drop them at the Summer GMs mtg.

If they are approved, then with a couple of volunteers to form a drunken sub-committee we'll
decide which ones are available by default from the guild and which are only available through
non-guild Warrior Schools and define the more common schools (e.g. Church Knights, Sanctuary
Templars, Kin Lu Ronin, Elven High Guard, ...).

Cheers, Stephen.

GE is okay. It's a bit on the uninteresting side, but I can live with it.
The reason I can live with it is that permanent ones are no longer
available except under special circumstances
