Hi folks, 

BattleCry is fast approaching. Just 1 week away. We
have oodles of things to see and do this year. And it's our 30th
Anniversary so I hope you can pop in to help celebrate with us. It's
free entry for spectators just wanting to visit. If you want to play in
an event please pre-register on the website here:

We have over 20 rpg games
on offer in our roleplaying section. A range of themes and systems
including Dr Who, Traveller, Dead of Night, Pathfinder, Dungeons and
Dragons and some homebrew/systemless games. Check out the blurbs here:

We have on offer our big
board gaming area. We have a library of games you can borrow to play,
people bringing more games to share (bring something to share) and we
have a new Prototype Area where NZ and overseas designers will be
running playtests on new games they are working on. Martin Wallace, an
English games designer now living in New Zealand will be attending on
Saturday to share some new games he's working on. He's the founder of
TreeFrog Games and has numerous published games like Steam, Discworld:
Ankh-Morpork, the Dr Who card game and the newly published Neil Gaiman A
Study in Emerald game. If you want to know more about getting games
published pop by the Prototype area and have a chat to him and other
local game designers like SchilMil Games and Brad Thompson of the
recently released Granny Wars game. There is an entry fee for the
boardgaming area this year. It's $10 per day or $20 for the weekend.
Early bird prepaid price of $15 for the weekend ends on the 10th of
February. 

Our gaming area includes a Star Wars X-Wing day, Netrunner
and Game of Thrones Living Card Games, Magic the Gathering CCG, Legend
of the Five Rings CCG, our annual Super Munchkin of BattleCry event, a
wide range of wargaming and loads more. 

On display this year we also
have the AUCKLAND LEGO(R) USER GROUP ( AUCKLUG) showcasing some awesome
Lego displays. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit are just a
few themes that will be on show. This is a family event so bring along
the kids and a picnic and make a day of it. 

Plus we have a range of
Trade Stands like Mighty Ape, Jambo Hobbie and Games, RetroSpace,
Popaganda Teeshirts, Redzeed Games, BattleLine Miniatures and
SteamWorks. 

And in our Ink Forge artist area we have a range of local
artists showcasing their work. We have jewellery, custom tshirts,
painting, sculpture and a DrawFest meetup on the Sunday. And past
America Club member Victoria Dreyer will be there showcasing her newly
published book The Survivors II: Autumn. She will be hosting a Q&A at
her table for anyone interested in how to get your story ideas
published. Pop by her stand for a chat. 

Our ever popular Bring and Buy
area will be available for people wanting to sell second hand gaming
items. This also includes a whole stand just of second hand roleplaying
books being sold by a local gamer wanting to clear hundred of gaming
books. Come and check his stand out for some great bargains on out of
print books. 

Make a day of it and buy some lunch in our excellent cafe
which sells a range of snacks and meal ideas. On Saturday night we are
having an anniversary celebration Invitational event with a meal and
late night gaming. If you are interested in these please register.
Saturday evening we will also be screening the Going Cardboard: A Board
Game Documentary. And on Sunday we have our Steampunk Mad Hatters Tea
Party and Picnic with an Alfs Battle as part of the entertainment.


There are lots of things to see and do. I hope you will get a chance
to pop along for a visit over the weekend.

Awesome. A few if you just want them on our information table for
people to take away. If you want 1 in every free door bag we give out
then you will need 500. Whatever works for you. And a poster or two for
the walls behind the information table would be cool too if you have
posters. 

Anyone else got events they want to advertise?
