During recent discussions a few of a us realised that the current terms for protection are
inadequate for the range of items, abilities, and rules proposals now at play in the game.
This document is an attempt to define standard jargon and what that means so that in a few
words we can accurately and unambiguously describe the effects we intend when we write rules,
items, or abilities.

Please point out anything we've missed and suggest improvements. Either here or in the wiki
discussion page.
Ideally, once we agree on standard terms and definitions we would start applying them to new
write-ups, and any rules that are worked on.
